Adelard of Bath
lived c. 1080 - 1152
Adelard was a scholastic philosopher who studied at Tours and taught at Leon before settling in Bath. Several of his well-known shorter works deal with questions about nature in what has been considered a scientific manner; he is also known for re-introducing Euclid’s Elements to western Europe in his Latin translation.
