Adam of Perseigne was born to a peasant family, became Benedictine and eventually a Cistercian monk and abbot of Perseigne in northern France. He preached during the Fourth Crusade and once met and discussed with Joachim of Fiore. Many of his letters and sermons survive. For more information, see:
