Abbo, a monk of St-Germain-de-Pres in Paris, is best known as the author of the only eyewitness account of the Viking siege of Paris and subsequent events in 885-886, in Latin verse. His patron may have been Odo of France, who appears favorably in the work; however, little else is know about Abbo himself. For more information, see:
