Comments:

Peter Abelard was one of the great intellectuals of the 12th century, with especial importance in the field of logic. He is perhaps most famous for his affair with his student Heloise, but his influence over medieval scholasticism was immense. Abelard’s very readable memoir gives a fascinating account of the intellectual life of Paris before the founding of the University. He also tells the tragic story of his ill-fated love for Heloise.

Introduction Summary:

There is a brief introduction on the Internet Medieval Sourcebook website gives some biographical information about Peter Abelard.
