Comments:
Ælfric of Eynsham was an abbot and prolific writer of devotional and didactic material – more of his works survive than any other Old English author. This series of 50 homilies, preserved in a twelfth-century manuscript, focuses on the events of the liturgical year.
Introduction Summary:
2 pages of introductory material. Another volume containing more information (an introduction, notes, and glossary) was to have been published, but was never printed. The material here simply outlines the alterations made by the editor, as well as a dedication.
